Helen and Simon's journey from South America, to kitchen table, to thriving chocolate business employing 70 people, proves that anyone with a passion can create the food business of their dreams.

The Montezuma's Story

Helen and Simon met as corporate lawyers, fell in love, quit their jobs and, whilst Britney Spears was releasing her debut hit "......Baby One More Time" to the world, disappeared off on their dream holiday away to South America [this was 1999 for those non-Britney fans out there].

It was there, camping out on a cocoa plantation, that they unearthed their passion for cocoa and the deliciousness it can create - which you and I know far better as chocolate.

When they returned in 2000, the newly weds settled in Brighton and, before long, they had opened their very first chocolate shop.

They made each bar sold with their very own fair hands, turning from lawyers to become self-taught chocolatiers, all using the finest quality ethical cocoa sourced from plantations which meet their own stringent "Trading Fairly Policy".

Located near Chichester, Sussex

Since then Helen and Simon have created a chocolate company voted Britain's Best Confectionary Brand on four separate occasions by Fine Food Digest, started supporting the charity Children on the Edge, employ over 70 members of staff and have stores in six locations; Brighton, London, Winchester, Kingston, Woking and Chichester.
