FITCORN is William Chase's very own popcorn. Air-popped to perfection forming the finest clouds of crunchy butterfly corn, lightly sprinkled with home cooked, grown up ingredients.

The William Chase Story

In 1992, after a particularly stereotypical British year on the weather front, William Chase was in a bit of a pickle. The rains had waterlogged his farm to such an extent that it had ruined all his produce. 

He found himself in an un-enviable position; a 32-year-old bankrupt farmer.

Still, life is there to be lived he reasoned, and 6 months later he started again - this time as a potato trader.

As he was starting to find his financial feet again, William become increasing frustrated with the monopolous supermarkets who were sending back 50% of his potato produce.

Why? Because his potatoes were not "cosmetically perfect".

After looking around for a use for all these potatoes, William founded the crisp company Tyrrells, so named after his family farm. You probably know the rest from here but, if not, then let me tell you that his crisp company was pretty successful, and even beat Tesco in a court battle.

Fast forward to today, and William has sold his Tyrrells crisp company and started his latest venture: Willy Chase's FITCORN. The lovely product of which we have the pleasure of delivering to you today.

What is butterfly corn?

"Butterfly corn" refers to the shape of the popped kernels. 

In other words, once the corn has heat applied to it, it pops into the shape of what some say looks like a butterfly with its wings spread. That is where the name comes from.

What is the Willy Chase's FITCORN range?

The Willy Chase's FITCORN range comes in 20g individual bags in the following flavours:

• Apple Cider Vinegar

• Salted Honey

• Smoked Bloody Mary

• Nearly Naked (aka lightly salted)

• Goats Cheese, Red Onion & Thyme.
